Dong Fang Mei Ren (Xinzhu)

«Dong Fang Mei Ren» («Oriental Beauty») from Hsinchu County (Northern Tea Region of Taiwan), harvest fall 2020. This variety is famous for the fact that small insects fuchen-tzu (Jacobiasca formosana) are involved in its creation. Protecting itself from their bites, the tea plant changes its chemical composition. The result is an amazing, unique bouquet of the ready-made tea.

In appearance: small, brown, twisted tea tips. The aroma is intensive, berry-and-biscuit. The liquor is transparent, with a shade of white grapes.

The bouquet of the ready-made tea is fresh, berry-floral with notes of citrus, biscuit and spices. The aroma is tender, berry-floral. The taste is smooth and refined, silky, sweetish, with bright berry sourness and refreshing finish.

Steep the tea in a hot water (75-85°C) in a porcelain gaiwan or a teapot of porous clay. The proportion is 5 g per 100 ml. The time of the first steeping is about 15 seconds. After that do short steeps (just for 3-5 seconds), increasing steeping time for each subsequent step, if necessary. You can steep the tea up to 10 times.

«Dong Fang Mei Ren» is a lovely tea for a variety of situations and moods – bright, playful and inspiring.
